Pictured above is Ilenda Kisa Kula and his wife sitting on a hospital bed listening to the Torch in Beni General Hospital, D.R. Congo. Llenda lost both hands and was further injured in a bomb blast fighting Muslim Defense International (MDI) rebels. Ilenda shared that since listening to the Word of God on the Torch, he has changed. And he has even quit smoking.
These Torches were sent out as a pilot test of the new device from InTouch Ministries to Don “Love More” Foster‘s outreach team. The Torch has three light-settings, the audio version of the New Testament, and discipleship material in two languages (French and Lingala).
Here are some more Torches from the pilot test in the hands of prisoners in Beni, D.R. Congo. They are receiving the Gospel of Jesus through these Torches. Don “Love More” Foster has now distributed a Torch to each prison cell in the prison. Prisoners have no electricity and many are hungry for the Word of God, so these Torch units are thankfully received.
The Lord really “is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” The war zones of the D.R. Congo are receiving the good news of the Hope of Jesus. Solar-powered inventions, such as the Torch, are bringing God’s “Son-Light” to those who would never have this Light otherwise.
Thank you for your prayers and support,
